The Grand Cherokee is all new for 2005. Among the improvements are new four-wheel-drive systems, an independent front suspension, three excellent engine options and better ergonomics and build quality.

- Hard plastic interior surfaces could use some padding, less cargo capacity than most midsize SUVs.

Love that Hemi - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Janell Lawrence - September 27 - 3:20 pmI have had my Jeep for a year now and it is still the best Jeep I have ever owned. I love the Hemi and the smart beams, the navigation and the u- connect. It drives as smooth and easy as the first day I got it, It is great on long trips, no achy back and legs. It handles the road wonderful. I dont feel it leaning around curves; very stable. A year and I still love it!

Great Jeep - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By drfit2000 - September 26 - 6:43 amThis Jeep is different from others I have driven. Its fast, strong, luxurious and RELIABLE. There are great technical features like controllable rain-sensing wipers, helpful computer related features, and a fantastic drive system. That drive system not only makes this Jeep incredibly secure in bad weather but gives it sports-car cornering and handling. Its never been in for any unscheduled service but it does often visit the gas pump. I love this vehicle.

Solid, powerful Jeep 4x4 - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jhbremer - August 28 - 5:07 pmI purchased my Jeep in February 2012. It was a pretty good find, given its age...only 34k miles on it when purchased. Rocky Mountain Edition (nice wheels, leather, sunroof, power everything, heated seats, Boston Acoustics). Ive put 15k miles on it since I bought it...with ZERO problems. The only thing I can think of was I got a warning about my 4x4 system for about 3 minutes while on the highway, but nothing since. Handles well for an SUV, plenty of power (love the torque from the 4.7L), and gas mileage isnt terrible (I can get 20-21 on the highway). Very pleased with this Jeep.

By Hemi - June 14 - 6:00 pmWe have a cabin in the Sierras and the road to our place is dirt. When it rains its very muddy and we needed a dependable 4 wheel drive to get there. We found it with the new 2005 Grand Jeep Cherokee. Just love to drive it! Its easy to drive and a dream to parallel park.

MY 3RD JEEP - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By J. M. Coughenour - June 8 - 1:13 pmThis is my third Jeep starting with a 2000 Laredo - 2002 Grand Cherokee and now a 2005 Grand Cherokee loaded including the 5.7 Hemi. So far this one has been excellent except in one small area which I am getting used to. When applying the brakes lightly they will on their own go down about 1 inch and then take better hold. I drove another 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it also did this. No explanation from Jeep. I am getting used to it and do not consider it a problem, only something different. The ride is greatly improved over the 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo I had.

I had a head on crash in my 2005 Grand Cherokee last month and walked away without a scratch on me and my Jeep was repaired and runs like new. Dont let anyone tell you that these are not 5 star crash protection because they are.

Best Jeep Yet! - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Heather - May 25 - 11:40 amI have owned three other Jeep Vehicles in the past and this is the best one yet. I feel totally safe and comfortable with this Jeep. Its ability has overcome all the other Jeep vehicles I have had in the past. My Laredo is actually a 8 cylinder not a 6 but they dont have that choice on here but it is an option. To anyone who would be interested in buying this vehicle, I give it 5 stars and you cant get better than that!
